Experts on site
Scandinavian Shipping Gazette serves you the latest news as well as indepth analyses of many topics.
You can read about the latest newbuildings, innovations within ship design, safety & environment, training & education, local shipping communities, more or less, well-known profiles in the maritime sector and much more.
All delivered to you in a nice package by several of the best experts in the field.

With a North European perspective, ten special feature issues a year and a weekly newsletter, all in English, we give you the most comprehensive coverage of all aspects of shipping and sea transportation.

For almost a century, Scandinavian Shipping Gazette has served Swedish readers in the international shipping community with news, facts, information and a forum for debate. But now it is time to move on. The world is changing and the importance of national borders and language barriers is diminishing. This, of course, especially applies to shipping, the world’s most global industry.

Then why restrict ourselves to Northern Europe? The answers are simple.
Northern Europe is one of the world’s leading and most exciting shipping regions. The decisions behind almost 25 per cent of all investments in the world merchant fleet are made in this region. Here, you will find marketleading companies in all shipping segments as well as companies, universities and research centres at the forefront of technical developments. The EU enlargement programme will soon have transformed the Baltic Sea into practically a European Union inland sea. It will also be a new dynamic European region with the highest rate of economic development, and we all know what that means when it comes to demand for shipping.

Since we have high ambitions when it comes to coverage, we feel that there are enough good stories to tell and news to break in Northern Europe. However, shipping is global and we will, of course, follow all developments in the international arena, but in particular those that will affect shipping in our region.

We are getting an increasing number of inquiries from shipping people all around the region. By expanding our resources and our editorial focus we believe that we can serve our current readers in a better way and at the same time be able to offer a new and unique product to the shipping communities in Northern Europe.

In this issue we take an in-depth look at the shipbuilding and ship repair industries. A report from each country is followed by a feature story on Chinese shipbuilding and its close ties with Scandinavia. A summary of the situation primarily in the world’s two largest shipbuilding nations, South Korea and Japan, is followed by a chronicle with an European Union perspective on the current and most important issues concerning shipbuilding.
